In 2019-20, despite a shortened season, the Old Dominion women’s golf team once again had a successful year. In the final Golfstat rankings of 2020, ODU finished ranked 75th in the country. Individually, Jana Melichova and Leah Onosato both finished the season in the top-200 according to Golfstat. As a team, ODU recorded four top-5 finishes in their six events. Their best result came at the Maryb S. Kauth Invitational where Melichova won, shooting a (3-under) on her way to earning VaSID Player of the Year honors. The Monarchs season was also highlighted by hosting the second Princess Anne Invitational. The event was held at Princess Anne Country Club, which included four top-50 ranked opponents in the 15-team field. Leah Onosato also had a standout season, posting a 72.6 scoring average, right behind Melichova who owns a 71.6 average. Melichova earned C-USA Player of the Week accolades twice (10/2, 2/5) while Onosato earned the honor once on Feb. 19. Overall, Melichova compiled three top-5 finishes and Onosato recorded two top-10 finishes.
