Tim Kovacs

Athletic Development Officer, Major Gifts

Tim Kovacs joined the Old Dominion Athletic Foundation in March, 2023.

He spent the previous 10 seasons in various roles with the ODU Football team.

Kovacs comes to ODAF after previously serving as the Director of Football Operations since 2016. During his time as DFO he was heavily involved in the logistics for the Bahamas Bowl victory of 2016 and trip to the Myrtle Beach Bowl in 2021. Tim also served as the NFL Liaison since 2016.

Tim initially came to ODU to become the Assistant Recruiting Coordinator, from 2013 - 2016. Helping to sign classes that included future NFL Players Oshane Ximines, Travis Fulgham, Jeremy Cox, etc.

Kovacs graduated in 2011 with a degree in sports management.

Upon graduation from ODU, Tim worked with UAB for the 2011 and 2012 seasons. Leaving UAB with the title of Assistant Director of Recruiting.

Kovacs is an avid golfer who enjoys trying local restaurants and traveling with his family. He spent his childhood living in Delaware, Northern Virginia, Montreal, Albany, NY and Birmingham, AL.

Tim is married to the former, Tiffany Hughes, born and raised in Norfolk. They have a newborn Ava Jane, who was born in 2023.
