Athletic Development Officer
Darius James joined the Old Dominion Athletic Foundation in January of 2016 as Assistant Director of Athletic Development. In the summer of 2017, Darius took a new role as an Athletic Development Officer, solely focusing on fundraising. Prior to ODU, he spent two years with Florida State University as the Athletic Coordinator where he coordinated all community outreach, assisted with football game day operations, and helped with Seminole Booster events. Prior to FSU, he served as the Student-Athlete Development Coordinator at VCU for a year and a half, where he coordinated all community outreach and developed fundraising strategies for all SAAC events.
A native of Virginia Beach, VA, James earned a Bachelor of Science and Master of Science in Higher Education from Old Dominion, where he served as Team Captain of the Men's Basketball team from 2007-2011.
Darius enjoys spending time with family and friends and playing pick-up basketball. He currently resides in Chesapeake, VA with his wife Ashley and daughter Makenzie.

First ODU Touchdown pass caught by Maquel Thomas in 2009 vs. Chowan in the first ever ODU football game. As a student-athlete, winning back to back CAA titles for automatic NCAA Tournament bids.
